Legacy is NOT a stagnant status of becoming "rich and famous"; it is a process through which core values are defined, developed and transformationally generated to those who follow. While American value is certainly overrepresented by money, there is a far deeper sense of psycho-emotional connection and spiritual endowment that historically has been valued and stewarded by Black men. Our African American values are the principles or standards of behavior by and through which we have achieved and ascended as individuals and served our community, as standards for future generations to transcend. Building and maintaining a legacy include behavioral, financial and spiritual components. These require continuous redefining and revitalization. Black men are particularly innovative in these measures because of exclusive pressures to apply meritocracy within social spaces pervaded by entitlement and privilege.
Legacy Coaching consists of learning better how to utilize the value from lessons of your own rich experiences - particularly your meaningful struggles and valuable suffering - to benefit the emerging generation of Black Men in a most constructive manner. Many successful Black male elders feel compelled to address the societal challenges that hinder Black Male success. However, just because you have been successful in an organizational setting does NOT mean that will transfer readily to aid in the systemic success of other Black men. Legacy Coaching is a prime opportunity to achieve community validation of your life and leadership experiences for sustainable community transformation in these volatile times.
